Abstract

Field and Aims: Participatory criminal policy in Iran is a tested strategy for crime prevention. In this regard, in various areas, participatory criminal policy can accelerate the crime prevention strategy. Accordingly, the aim of this research is to analyze the role of the government and governance; civil society and public participation in the prevention of economic.
Method: In this research, a mixed method (documentary/quantitative) was used. In the documentary part, using existing theoretical knowledge and previous research, the role of the three factors of the government and governance; civil society and public participation in the prevention of economic crimes was identified, and then in the quantitative part of the research, fieldwork was carried out on documentary data and, while measuring the effect of independent variables on the dependent, the relationships in the model were also tested using structural equation modeling.
Findings and Conclusions: The results of the analysis show that economic crimes in the country can be prevented through three means: government and governance; civil society and civil participation, and participatory criminal policy is a successful tool for the prevention of economic crimes. In the quantitative part, the results have shown that civil society has a direct and significant effect on explaining the prevention of economic crimes with a coefficient of 0.72, followed by the government and governance with a coefficient of 0.54, and finally the effect of public participation on the prevention of economic crimes with a coefficient of 0.40.
