Effect of information and education through virtual social networks in preventing the tendency of children and adolescents to use narcotics and psychotropic drugs

Abstract
Field and Aims: The need to use educational interventions to prevent the tendency of children and adolescents to use narcotics and psychotropic drugs, the effect of information and education through social networks is necessary. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of information and education through virtual social networks in preventing the tendency of children and adolescents to use narcotics and psychotropic drugs.
Method: The current research is applied in terms of purpose and survey method. The method of data collection is descriptive-correlation. The statistical population of the research includes librarians working in public libraries of Isfahan province, after sampling 400 questionnaires were distributed among the employees. The tool for collecting the research was a questionnaire made by the researcher, the validity and reliability of that item.
Findings and Conclusions: Virtual networks are a suitable platform for informing, educating, and preventing children and adolescents from using drugs and psychotropic drugs, and the level of effectiveness of education on social media is high. Also, exposure to prevention messages on social media is associated with avoiding drug use, and there is a direct correlation between the opinions of librarians and children and adolescents regarding the effectiveness of social media in preventing addiction. By publishing articles, videos, posts, and podcasts on social networks, people can be educated about the negative effects of addiction and ways to prevent it. Libraries can act as information and cultural resources for adolescents and help them avoid falling into the trap of addiction. Librarians can hold educational sessions and workshops on addiction and ways to prevent it so
