Abstract
Field and Aims: The 14th United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Congress was held for the second time after fifty years and at the same time as the Covid-19 pandemic, from March 7 to 12, 2021, in Kyoto, Japan. In the final statement of the Kyoto Congress, the following things were emphasized: 1- developing preventive strategies with a cause-oriented approach and focusing on identifying the deep roots of delinquency and risk factors, 2- accepting scientific methods in the correction and rehabilitation of criminals, and 3- responsible use of new technologies in Crime prevention.
Method: This research was written with a descriptive-analytical approach.
Findings and Conclusions: The statement of the 13th Congress in Doha confirms this issue and considers crime prevention as an integral part of the UN work program. The 15th Congress will also be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in 2026 with the theme of "Accelerating Crime Prevention"This congress will be an opportunity to convey the concerns and challenges of criminology and provide scientific solutions to deal with priority crimes in prevention.
